About the BA (Honours), MA Course, PhD
Jain University in collaboration with Dr. L Subramaniam's Lakshminarayana Global Center of Excellence (LGCE) is offering a BA (Honours) & Masters in music with an emphasis on performance. Majors currently offered are Carnatic singing, violin, mridangam with an exposure to western music. This course will take a holistic approach in teaching music and empower students to become performers with an awareness of global music traditions. This will also help students to pursue their master's and doctorate on similar lines if they are academically inclined.This course will also give an option to students to become music educators or ethnomusicologists. This is a uniquely designed course that will give various options to students both in India and abroad. The delivery of this course will be supported by the team from LGCE including Dr. L Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam; Dr. Meera Rajaram Pranesh, Bindu Subramaniam supported by global institutes like the Norwegian Academy of Music as well as other academies in Europe and USA.

About the BA (Music) Course, MA
New age practical programme, blending varied streams of Indian and Global music, encouraging careers as performers, musicians and music industry professionals.Practical : Programme is designed to be useful for practical application by the students when they enter the professional music field. As the major chunk of the instruction is centered on the performance and new age musical knowledge, the students would be well equipped to seize the professional opportunities and be ready to handle “on the job” matters with their practical and inclusive knowledge of their subject.
Balanced : The programme has a balanced approach towards all the streams of music. Equal importance given to Carnatic, Hindustani and western instruction as well as newer realms in music like Audio/Video Engineering, Digital Marketing which are essential tools for a 21st century musician.
Global : The global approach of the curriculum would enable the students to learn, imbibe and experience Indian and global music in an entirely novel way. This would be essential in grooming students to become performers, musicians and music industry professionals.

Highlights of this festival are bringing in international artists and collaborating with Indian artists and the main motto is to 'creating new collaboration and pushing the boundaries of music beyond borders.LGCE is collaborating with premier institutes like Karnataka Rajya Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music & Dance performing Arts University, Jain University (Bangalore, Karnataka) & Vishwakarma University (Pune, Maharashtra) for offering University Grants Commission (UGC) approved degrees & certificates for its courses.
LGCE is launching 30-hour/12-week certificate courses in collaboration with Maharani Lakshmi Ammani College, Bangalore, starting from August 20th. These specialized programs will provide students with focused training in specific areas of music.
